What is the best portable mattress?

Hi!

I read your reviews a few of them anyway but I don’t really understand which of the portable mattresses is better? I don’t need it for camping just for travelling. I mean I would’ve bought an air mattress but here you are giving some neat ideas about the japanese mattresses. I would never thought of that before. I sill don’t know if it’s a good choice.

Hello Jeremy!

There is no definite answer to give. Although some situations might exclude one or another type of mattress completely, yours is different.
See, if you needed it for camping, I would not recommend powered air beds. Those are for more home-like conditions. Milliard 6-Inch Memory Foam Tri-fold Mattress with Ultra Soft Removable Cover with Non-Slip BottomBut you said you would be just travelling. So they might still work for you.

Anyway, I do believe that futon mattresses are better for travelling. Here’s why. You don’t have to worry about punctures. Weight is not a priority (unlike when you travel on foot). Futons are more comfortable.

That said, there are other types of mattresses, neither futons nor air mattresses, which can still be used for sleeping during travels. Take this tri-fold mattress for instance. It’s not a futon, it’s just a regular mattress, except it’s foldable.

Hope this was helpful. Take care!

Mark
