Hello!
I have a daughter who’s growing up. Not as in becoming mature (I dread to think about that), but as in literally growing. Looks like the kiddie’s mattress will be out of the way soon. I need a mattress for teenagers, but I don’t know which one I need. Could you please help me?

Hello Henry!
I can help you and I will. At least, I hope I can.
From what you told me, what matters is the fact your girl is growing up. So you must be talking about sizes.
As a matter of fact, I don’t think kids really need big beds, not until they really grow up. A Twin Size bed may be not all that luxurious but it would be enough for sleep. Granted, it would only be good for sleep only but you don’t really expect anything else would be necessary anytime soon. Or, if your daughter is a restless sleeper, you can get her a bigger bed, the Full Size, for instance.
Regardless of the size, there are some other important things the mattress has to be capable of providing. Two things, to be exact. One is comfort, and the other is support.
Depending on your budget, you might want to obtain an innerspring mattress, a memory foam mattress or a latex mattress. For a teenager, I would recommend a memory foam mattress. Not because I’m fond of memory foam. The reason is that latex mattresses are rather expensive, well, generally, and innerspring mattresses are more often than not cheaper but not on the level of memory foam.
Hope this helps!
