What is the best twin mattress for toddlers?

Hello Mark!

I’m leaving the comment here because I don’t really know where else I should do it, short of writing to you directly… And I’m not sure how to go around that.

Anyways, let me get straight to the point. I hope you don’t mind if I do.

I have two little kids, and since we don’t really have too much space available, we’ve got a used bunk bed for both them. The thing is, we need mattresses now, and I’m not sure what kind of mattress would be best for them. I’ve tried googling already but I didn’t get anything useful so far. Could you please help us with this problem?

Hello Christian!

Well, I certainly can. In fact, I’d be delighted to!

The first thing you need to know is that you need a Twin Size mattress. Well, most likely, anyway. Although I wouldn’t recommend a bunk bed for toddlers anyway. But if it works for you, who am I to judge.

What I would recommend is a mattress with reinforced edges. For a bunk bed for kids, it is very important. Despite how unlikely it is for anyone to just roll off their bed, it is a possibility you should consider with little kids.

That aside, I think latex is something you would buy. Memory foam is more affordable, however, it is most certainly not the most natural material in the world. If it doesn’t work for you, consider purchasing an innerspring mattress. However, remember the edges!

Hope this was helpful!

Mark
